Louise, I didn't attend the Vancouver Leadership Revival as was out of town, however I was at the Seattle Revival a couple of years ago. I would love to get to know you better. I haven't completed my profile yet and am in alignment with you on many of the areas in your profile.

warmly,

Zoey

About Me:
I am a long time feminist who's world view has shifted to acknowledge a much wider, deeper struggle than what my mother and my contemporaries experienced and that which my daughter faces. I was very active in the 'women's movement' in the last 90's but moved away from that as the approaches and activities felt less and less congruent with my growing sense that nothing in this world can be boiled down to a particular socio-political stance. My work history reflected that journey: I went from a promising career in banking (breaking ground in the management field) to the non-profit sector when I felt the call to get even more personally involved in leading change, and then shifted to a consultancy practice in community development when that call broadened to embrace a multitude of perspectives and imperatives.
What Needs of the World Most Resonate with my Call to Leadership
In order to even begin to address the complex and lethal issues we now face, I believe we must turn away from the politics of 'power over' and confrontation, and the need to horde even greater wealth, and call on individual human capacity for compassion and connection to bridge our differences and work together as communities and as nations. We must also acknowledge that we have different capacities as individuals, communities and countries and those of us who have more must do what we can to support the strenthening of those who have less. I believe this is inherently how women organize their lives and their worlds, and so trust that in supporting the development of women's leadership, I am working towards greater wellness for us all. I have not identified specifically how I may practice that myself, other than the message I carry to all women in my sphere of influence, but I am listening and watching and I am prepared to respond with whatever is at my disposal when I hear the call.
Projects/Ideas I Want To Share:
I have been intrigued of late by the Integral theory put forth by Ken Wilber but have yet to feel a deep resonance. I suspect that is because it is primarily a male view that I am hearing. I understand that Marilyn Hamiltoin and colleagues have built on Wilber to create Quantum Women - I haven't investigated further yet but feel the pull none the less.
I am also a member of the Saturday Soup Salon started by Myriam Laberge. It is a wonderful vehicle for exploring my call to leadership and a means of being accountable to that. It is also a deeply meaningful way of connecting with other women on their journeys over wonderful food.
